Sunny Times in Kodiak

The sun has been shining here in Kodiak so we have taken advantage of it! Life has been wonderful so far up here. Jonathan's job has been going well. He's been busy with his field training program and learning Alaskan law. He goes to the Law Enforcement Academy sometime in January 2011 in Sitka, Alaska. My job has also been going well. I am off now until mid August so I have been taking advantage of having part of the summer off.

Jonathan and I have been out shooting which has been a blast. I have decided that I want a Sig .45 so maybe Santa will be bring me one!

Here is my July 4th trifle I made! It was so yummy!

I went fishing with some friends this last weekend and caught my first halibut by rod and reel! It was a 30 pounder! I had a HUGE one on the line that took the line (the people I was with thought it was at least 150 pounds). It was a fun day of fishing for sure.

Apparently it's tradition to kiss your first halibut that you catch!

Beautiful weather at the Coast Guard base and out on the water! I learned why they call this beautiful place we live in "The Emerald Isle".

After a fun day of fishing, Jonathan and I drove up Pillar Mountain. It was a gorgeous view up there so here are some pics.
